Our Clearwater Heritage Days Festival was originally started as a customer appreciation event by Don Lemke over 30 years ago, for the local shopping center businesses and it’s customers.
In recent years, that original one day event has transformed into becoming our Clearwater Heritage Days Festival.
Clearwater was one of the first towns established in the county and celebrated its Sesquicentennial in 2005. The Clearwater Heritage Days logo and theme revolve around our famous Ferry Boat and Mississippi River crossing. The Ferry was an important part of Clearwater’s history and has the distinction of having had the longest operating ferry on the entire Mississippi River. Although the original Ferry and crossing no longer exist, there are many local residents and businesses that take great pride in preserving Clearwater’s rich history and those efforts are seen throughout our Heritage Days Festival.
